How to fix an issue when Ubuntu does not automatically recognise plugged in headphones

I've been using recently a Bluetooth headphones on my Ubuntu 20.04. But then I noticed that when I'd plug in my wired headphones, I wouldn't get that usual Select Audio Device dialog:

In the Sound Settings, the Output Device would be set to Dummy Output:

Restarting the pulseaudio application is what helped me resolve this issue:

$ pulseaudio --kill && pulseaudio --start

No reboot was required.

Examination prep work for those huge tests can be frustrating. When you are taking examinations like the canadian citizenship quiz, SAT or ACT, for instance, it is very easy to come to be worried as well as nervous.
